Congratulations to our Client of the Month in Manchester: Mary Devlin!

  1. What is your hometown? I grew up in Keene, NH, but currently living in Pembroke

  2. What brought you to DPT? I knew a combination of weight training and cardio was the way to lose weight, but I didn’t know how to effectively do this on my own. I was looking for a personal trainer to get going, but luckily found DPT which offers personalized coaching in a small group environment. It has been so much more than I expected it to be.

  3. How long have you been training with us? 1 year!

  4. What do you do in the “real world?” (job, family, pets, etc). I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for a Visiting Nurse Agency. I visit patients in their homes after hospitalizations and assist them with a variety of different things-applying for local or state financial assistance programs, navigating Medicare & Medicaid, discussing long-term care planning, and providing emotional support.

At my home, I’ve got my very supportive boyfriend and the cutest little Calico kitty named Lola

  5. What is one fun fact that most people don’t know about you? I have a dart board at home that’s I play regularly (and I’m pretty good at it!)

  6. What is your favorite exercise and why? Right now I’m into running. It was something I used to really struggle with, but now that I’ve been here for a year, running really shows me how much my endurance has improved. It’s been an incredible change.

  7. What is your biggest gym achievement so far? When I first joined all I wanted was to be able to do a single push-up. And I can do that now and then some more! Oh and I also got 2nd place in a recent nutrition/movement challenge which taught me that small consistent changes can really have an impact on my overall wellbeing.

  8. What inspires and motivates you? In my job I visit with people who are very ill and this makes me entirely grateful for my health and that I have the ability to be active and strong. I want to continue building my strength, endurance, and agility so that I can enjoy what my life has in store for me. There is so much to look forward too!

  9. What would you say to someone who is thinking about joining or who has just joined DPT? Try it out-just walk through the door. We all were nervous when we started, but everyone here is supportive and will help you become confident in your movements so that you can reach your own health goals.
