Congratulations to our Client of the Month in Somerville: Sarah Baker!
-
What is your hometown? Farmington, CT
-
What brought you to DPT? I woke up one day and didn’t recognize myself in the mirror anymore. I didn’t like the trajectory I was on, and I knew I deserved more for myself. I needed to make it a priority, but having never been “athletic” I knew I needed some guidance to be able to turn it around. I heard about DPT just when I needed it, and perhaps more importantly, just when I was ready for it – some things are just meant to be.
-
How long have you been training with us? A little more than 2 years.
-
What do you do in the “real world?” (job, family, pets, etc) I run Support and Ticketing for a flight booking app called Hopper that predicts airfare prices.
-
What is one fun fact that most people don’t know about you? I learned how to ride a bike this year at 30 – but still can’t do a cartwheel.
-
What is your favorite exercise and why? I really love single leg deadlifts and bulgarian split squats, but I’m also developing a new fondness for toes to bar every since finally hitting my toes to the bar a couple of weeks ago.
-
What is your biggest gym achievement so far? There are too many to name! Pounds of fat and countless inches lost, confidence built, friendships made, half marathons run (I couldn’t/wouldn’t run a mile in high school), sticking with this for 2+ years, are all some that come to mind.
-
What inspires and motivates you? I’m a work in progress. I see that as part of my identity now. Anything I can do to push myself a little more, to get a little better, in any area of my life, is something that I prioritize now. Seeing the progress in myself and others at DPT is infectious.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about joining or who has just joined DPT? It will be the best decision you ever make for yourself.
