Cambridge Fitness Charity and Anniversary Workout Wrap-Up

A Wrap-Up of our Charity and Anniversary Workout

On June 9th we held an amazing event at our training studio in Cambridge.

It was a celebration of our 1 year anniversary at that location. We also celebrated and supported the Brigham and Women’s Hospital with a charity challenge workout.

36 clients, friends and family members piled into the studio at 9am on a beautiful Saturday morning and after a quick introduction from Nicole Evans, the fundraising director at the Friends of the Brigham, they got right into the heart of the workout.

Here’s what we did:

4 Rounds of 30 seconds work/30 seconds rest of the following exercises:
Jump Squats (weighted for advanced clients)
Push Ups (optional- use chains or high handles)
Valslide Body Saws
V-Sits
Kettlebell Front Loaded Reverse Lunge
1-Dumbbell Plank Rows

Then we headed outside for a conditioning finisher:

3 Rounds of the following:
Prowler Push
Sprint
Agility Ladder (2 runs)
20 reps on the Battling Ropes

This was an amazing event with raffle prizes from Davis Square Chiropractic, Sam Adams Brewery, Prograde Nutrition, some Durbrow Performance Training t-shirts and cook books donated by the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

We also had DJ Brian Derrick spinning some killer workout tunes to keep everyone pumped up.

Overall we raised $616 for the Brigham and Women’s Hospital NICU in just over 1 hour.

This was an incredible day for everyone involved and especially for our favorite little man, Liam Gean, who spent over 90 days in the NICU when he was born last summer. Liam is healthy and amazing and that’s due in part to the superior care that he received during that time.
