Congratulations to our Client of the Month in Somerville: Carrie Jung!
What is your hometown? Hamburg, New York (a suburb of Buffalo)
What brought you to DPT?I wanted to do something that was just for me, and would challenge me physically.
How long have you been training with us? A year!
What do you do in the “real world?” (job, family, pets, etc): I am a stay at home parent, before kids I worked as an infectious disease epidemiologist.
What is one fun fact that most people don’t know about you? When I worked at the Maryland State Dept of Health, I was involved in dealing with the ramifications of an attic so full of bat guano it was on the verge of collapse.
What is your favorite exercise and why?Landmine press because it makes me feel strong.
What is your biggest gym achievement so far?A successful 12” box jump.
What inspires and motivates you?The coaches. I have always enjoyed going to the gym, but I definitely need someone to challenge me to try a heavier weight or a harder version of an exercise. It is nice to have people who know where I am right now, but also push me to do more.
What would you say to someone who is thinking about joining or who has just joined DPT?The best thing about DPT is how encouraging everyone is — no matter what your current fitness/strength/ability level. I have never felt judged by anyone.
