June Client of the Month: Elena Hobson

Congratulations to our Client of the Month in Somerville: Elena Hobson!

 

  1. What is your hometown? Potsdam, NY (basically Canadian!) But, I’ve lived in Somerville since 2005.

  2. What brought you to DPT? I’d been having thyroid issues and had recently gone through a big breakup and put on some LBs. It was the right time to focus on myself and my health.

  3. How long have you been training with us? Since April 2018.

  4. What do you do in the “real world?” (job, family, pets, etc) I am a paralegal. No kiddos…. just keeping my plants alive.

  5. What is one fun fact that most people don’t know about you? I just bought a condo in Dorchester! (If you see me around, please give me your Dot recs!)

  6. What is your favorite exercise and why? I love most squats and anything involving a valslide. As long as I’m not doing a KB Clean and Press, I’m probably having fun!

  7. What is your biggest gym achievement so far? I deadlifted more than my body weight recently… That was pretty cool! Also, losing 70 pounds (and maintaining) has changed my life pretty dramatically. I feel so much stronger and I have the energy back that I thought was reserved for 25 year olds.

  8. What inspires and motivates you? All of you!!! Everybody who shows up at 6am and gets it done.

  9. What would you say to someone who is thinking about joining or who has just joined DPT? Oh, lots of things! Just keep showing up. Consistency matters over everything else. If you slip up on nutrition, don’t panic. Just make sure your next meal is something green. My favorite quote about exercise is that “it’s a celebration of what your body can do, not a punishment for what you ate”. Be gentle with yourself…. the only person you need to be better than is who you were yesterday. And… Callie, Emily, Erin & Justine are here to help you kick your booty into shape!
