Congratulations to our Client of the Month in Manchester: Sarah Gilman!

  1. What is your hometown?

Manchester, NH

  1. What brought you to DPT?

My lifelong best friend & DPT client, Stephanie Wright.  I had seen her amazing transformation and needed something different in my “fitness life” besides hanging out in my basement with Tony Horton every morning.  I had lost all of my motivation and Stephanie let me tag along to “Bring a Friend Day” and I was hooked!!!

  1. How long have you been training with us?

I reached my 2 year “Train-a-versary” in February.

  1. What do you do in the “real world?” (job, family, pets, etc)

Soooo…I am an Undertaker (no not like the wrestler).  I am a funeral director & embalmer which keeps me working a lot of crazy hours and long days, but I absolutely love my job.  When I am not working, I try to squeeze in as much fun as I can possibly have.  “Work hard, play hard”!  I am recently engaged to my soul mate, Dwayne, who I went to high school with, and reconnected with, at our 25thhigh school reunion.  We have 3 pain in the ass children between us, Johnny who is 27, Madison who is 22, and Connor who is 19.  I love them all to pieces but man, kids are tough & keep you on your toes no matter how old they are lol!!!!!  We also have a crabby old cat and she totally rules the roost.

  1. What is one fun fact that most people don’t know about you?

I got my pilots license when I was 16 years old.

  1. What is your favorite exercise and why?

I love TRX rows!!!!!  I push myself the most on the TRX and the rows make me feel strong…and tired…really tired!!!

  1. What is your biggest gym achievement so far?

Learning to actually “be good in my own skin”, to understand my body, and learn how to adjust when things aren’t working anymore. I lived most of my life on diet pills, extreme exercise and worrying about being “skinny” and other people’s perception, and was scale obsessed. DPT changed that mindset for me. I have learned about nutrition, learned that being strong is totally badass!!!! Our trainers take the time to work through our nutrition struggles and make us the best that we can be and give us confidence. OH!!!!!!…….& did I mention that I hold the record for the longest plank? 21 minutes baby!!!!

  1. What inspires and motivates you?

My “tribe” (aka: 5:30 Sassy Crew).  We are in the gym at 5:30am, four mornings  a week, and we work our asses off!!!!  We have built a bond that is strong AF!!!!!  We push each other.  We encourage each other.  We motivate each other.  I never thought I would be a part of something so strong and our trainers are part of that tribe!!!  Our bond is pretty tight!!

  1. What would you say to someone who is thinking about joining or who has just joined DPT?

JUMP IN, with both feet, TODAY!!!!.  You will never regret it.  It isn’t easy, but if it was easy, everyone would do it!  You will shock yourself at what you can accomplish with the right training and the right support.  You will get all of that, and incredible results, at DPT!
