Congratulations to our Client of the Month in Somerville: Carrie Jung!
-
What is your hometown? Hamburg, New York (a suburb of Buffalo)
-
What brought you to DPT? I wanted to do something that was just for me, and would challenge me physically.
-
How long have you been training with us? A year!
-
What do you do in the “real world?” (job, family, pets, etc): I am a stay at home parent, before kids I worked as an infectious disease epidemiologist.
-
What is one fun fact that most people don’t know about you? When I worked at the Maryland State Dept of Health, I was involved in dealing with the ramifications of an attic so full of bat guano it was on the verge of collapse.
-
What is your favorite exercise and why? Landmine press because it makes me feel strong.
-
What is your biggest gym achievement so far? A successful 12” box jump.
-
What inspires and motivates you? The coaches. I have always enjoyed going to the gym, but I definitely need someone to challenge me to try a heavier weight or a harder version of an exercise. It is nice to have people who know where I am right now, but also push me to do more.
-
What would you say to someone who is thinking about joining or who has just joined DPT? The best thing about DPT is how encouraging everyone is — no matter what your current fitness/strength/ability level. I have never felt judged by anyone.
