Congratulations to our Client of the Month in Somerville: Liz Valentin!

  1. What is your hometown? Belmont, MA

  2. What brought you to DPT? A very well timed instagram ad. I had just finished law school, and after 3 years of feeling too busy and overwhelmed to commit to working out, I was feeling frustrated about being out of shape and nervous about getting back into exercise. But the ad made DPT’s boot camp seem approachable and judgement free. I thought it would be just the right way to get regular exercise back into my routine, and I am so so glad I clicked on that ad and signed up. I haven’t regretted it once.

  3. How long have you been training with us? ~8 months

  4. What do you do in the “real world?” (job, family, pets, etc) I’m a legal aid attorney at Community Legal Aid in Worcester. I live with my fiance, an affordable housing developer, and our dog Atlas, a goofy Great Dane who hates puddles and loves 6-hour naps.

  5. What is one fun fact that most people don’t know about you? My family is from France, I’m the only one born in the US. I went to a bilingual school until 5th grade but remain terrible at spelling in French.

  6. What is your favorite exercise and why? The ladder — I always find a burst of energy I didn’t think I had.

  7. What is your biggest gym achievement so far? Attendance! Its a rough commute from Worcester and I’m proud of all the times I’ve made it to the 7pm class when all I want to do is head home and sit on my couch.

  8. What inspires and motivates you? The women of DPT who show up strong and positive and motivated despite their many work and family responsibilities.

  9. What would you say to someone who is thinking about joining or who has just joined DPT? Lean into this excellent decision! Only good things will come from giving this gym a shot. The sign at the door — ‘getting here is the hardest part, we’ll take it from here’ is real. Every time I step into DPT I enter a space that motivates me to be stronger, braver, and healthier. Its a wonderful community with room for more!
