How to Get Faster Training Results

Hey what’s up, welcome to October. I can’t believe we’re already into the heart of fall. I love this time of year though, it’s one of my favorite things. I won’t get into that but you can see what I’m talking about here….

5 Things I’m Excited About (and some training tips)

If you have been reading my stuff for a while then you know, I’m all about efficiency. I hate wasting time with anything, especially with my training. In our group trainings we focus on 3 things- strength training, interval conditioning and cardio and nutrition. Those are the three major things you must do in order to get results.

If you do these things and do them with intensity and focus, you will get results.

There are other important things that you can add into your training program and lifestyle to help you get results.

Every month I get a deep tissue massage to help with my circulation, muscular tension, mobility, stress and just overall well-being.

I stretch and foam roll every day to keep my muscles and tendons healthy.

I just recently added some super foods into my nutrition plan….check out exactly what a Super Food is (and what it can do).

One cool thing I wanted to share with you that I’ve started doing is going to see a chiropractor. I don’t have any major injuries or issues, but going to see him once per week has been amazing for my posture, mobility in my upper back and shoulders and it makes my lower back feel great.

I know a lot of people see chiropractic work as just a bunch of popping and cracking, it’s so much more than that. The other cool thing is that you don’t need a referral from your doctor and your insurance will cover a certain number of visits.

You’ll go in and get your initial assessment, looking at movement patterns and then you’ll get some treatment. This can vary from stretching, heat, manipulation or this cool stretching table, then you’ll get the adjustment. Dave (my chiropractor) is so awesome because he tells you exactly what he’s doing with each treatment so you understand why and what is going on. It’s also great because if you’re nervous about the adjustment, he makes you feel really relaxed and it actually feels great!

Here are a couple of reasons why chiropractic work is great for overall health and will improve your training results in a crazy way:

1. Regular chiropractic care helps:

Restore and maintain a full range of motion
Promotes full function
Optimizes performance training and coordination
Maintain joint stability
Induce a sense of well-being and relaxation
Improve nutrition to discs and other joints
Reduce the risk of injury

2. This is a great partner to exercise and training

Putting training and chiropractic work hand in hand, you can improve your results faster
Joints with good biomechanics, relaxed muscle tone and stability will benefit the most from exercise and will be the least likely to get injured

3. Reduce stress- restore motion and reduce tension in the body

4. A loss of motion can occur without actual pain or symptoms- regular chiropractic work can detect areas of disturbed motion and these can be restored and maintained. Basically if you have an area of your body that’s not doing the work it should, it can affect everything around it and cause pain in other places. This will totally reduce that.

5. Symptoms don’t tell the whole story. This is something that Dave and I talked about at length. Many problems arise but the symptoms don’t show themselves until the problem is advanced. Chiropractic work can detect and correct problems at an early stage by restoring normal mobility.

I’ve been going once a week to see Dave and I highly recommend this as a supplement to your training results. If you can move better and feel better, you’ll get even better results. Your workouts will be more intense, you’ll be moving freely through each exercise and that translates to burning more calories, boosting your metabolism and overall being able to work harder.

If you want to check this out and see if it’s right for you then go see Dave Shadrick at Davis Square Chiropractic and tell him that Callie sent you.
