Cambridge Personal Trainer Morning Routine

Cambridge Personal Trainer Morning Routine

You know your mom always told you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I would agree with that for a few reasons, but I’d also add that the entire morning is the most important part of the day.

I’ve been doing a ton of work on my mindset and how I set up my entire lifestyle. One thing that I found is that the better I set up my morning, the better my day goes.

How many days do you stumble out of bed, dead tired, drag yourself through the morning, dying for coffee and mindlessly drive or commute to work? Does this happen every day?

How many days do you get yourself into our training studio? 🙂

Do you find yourself drudging through this routine every day, just walking in a fog until about noon?

Not a great way to go through life.

I’m not here to preach about lifestyle or passion for your job or anything like that. I do think that’s important but for now let’s just touch on how to improve your morning routine to set up your day to be as great as possible.

5am or 6am- wake up. I wake up to a cd and my alarm is across the room so I have to get up, no snooze

First thing I do is make a quick green drink. This is what I use…..Athletic Greens (it actually tastes REALLY good, not like dirt at all). This gets me some great nutrients and water.

Then as I drink that I’m making my breakfast smoothie. This depends on my mood and also what day I’m in in my carb cycling program. If it’s a moderate or high carb day then I’m doing the Cherry-Berry Cacao-Kapow shake which is my new favorite. If it’s a low carb day I’m most likely doing coffee chocolate smoothie .

With my smoothie I’ll take a couple of supplements. These are exactly what I recommend to my personal training clients.

I’ll take a multivitamin (click here to see the brand I use) and an EFA (essential fatty acid)

As I’m getting ready I’ll switch on the tv just to see the weather but otherwise I avoid watching the news. For me it just sets my mind into a negative state so I totally avoid it.

I also avoid checking email on my phone while I drink my smoothie. I used to do this and it just kinda got me stressed out before my day even started.

Instead now I’ll just sit on the couch and drink my smoothie, relax and think about all of the things that I’m looking forward to for the day. Usually that means torturing our personal training clients 🙂

As I’m brushing my teeth I’ll throw on some music that gets me relaxed and kinda in a good mood. Usually it’s a few Dave Matthews or Jack Johnson songs.

It may seem like I’m giving myself a ton of time to get ready and set my mind each morning. Not at all.

I wake up at 5 or 6 (depending on what time I head to the gym) and I’m out of the house 30 minutes later. I LOVE sleep so it’s all about maximizing my time.

Getting my nutrition in and setting my mind for the day have made a HUGE difference in my life. It’s all about finding what works for you and making a conscious decision for you to set yourself up for the best day you can have.

Don’t just go through the motions every day. Life is too short.

I found this video about Lady Gaga’s morning routine. Kinda interesting except I don’t recommend sleeping in an outfit like that…..
