How to Get Great Abs Without One Single Crunch

Welcome, welcome, we’re back here at the 1/2 way point of the Cambridge training 30 day fat loss challenge. Today I want to talk to you about abs. You know you want them, everyone does. But how do you get them? It seems like that pesky belly fat is always just hanging around and possibly even getting worse.

Here are the three major things to focus on when you want flat, toned abs…

1. Nutrition

2. Strength training to boost your metabolism and burn fat

3. Higher intensity, interval based training instead of steady state cardio

But when it comes to directly training your abs, what should you do? 100’s of crunches? Hell no….

If you want back pain, layers of fat over non-functional abdominal muscles and possibly even a protruding belly then go ahead and do those sit ups, crunches and bicycle crunches. If you want toned, tight and sexy abs then watch this video….

In addition to training your core with planks and rotations, you’ll want to perform some bigger movements. These seem really simple but when you do a movement like a squat or a lunge, you have to transfer that weight  and movement from the floor. The area that helps you do that is in fact your core. So as you come up from a weighted squat, your core has to engage and work super hard. Here are some of the best ways to train your core while burning fat and sculpting your body….

1. Kettlebell Swings

2. Squats (front, back, dumbbell, single leg)

3. Dead Lifts (Romanian, Sumo, Traditional, Kettlebell, Single Leg)

4. Push Ups

Leave me a comment about the video and let me know how those exercises felt!

I’ll see you tomorrow with a cool jedi mindset trick guaranteed to help you lose fat fast 🙂
